ReMould

Plast Center Denmark / Danish Materials Network is in collaboration with following:

  • CemeCon Scandinavia A/S
  • Aarhus University

which are our partners in a two-year project called “ReMould”. The project is funded by Innovation Fund Denmark.

The project aims to create a solution for recycling post-consumer plastics (PCPs), contributing to the transition to a circular plastics economy. Implementation, after further development, for just a single product at one facility would lead to the use of approx. 440 tons PCP per year, with savings in greenhouse gas (GHG) emission of 428 ton CO2e. Due to a high scalability and simple implementation, the solution can significantly improve plastic recycling. Thereby, ReMould addresses the Danish aim of a 70% reduction of GHG emissions by 2030, while increasing the competitiveness of the Danish industry by creating cutting-edge solutions. Specifically, ReMould addresses initiatives 01, 12 and 20 of Innomission Roadmap 4, concerning circularity and recovery of plastics. Combined with advanced sorting, remoulding of PCPs can bypass chemical recycling and retain sufficient quality for production of new high-volume products.
