Friction Stir Welding arrangement held in October

It was with great anticipation that some of the top experts in the field – at the invitation of DMN AluNets – visited Denmark.

Ole Terje Midling, Marine Aluminium – Norway, and Peter Kjällström – ESAB, had agreed to share their great experience with the member companies of DMN AluNet.

As one of the founding fathers of the process, Ole Terje Midling went through the process milestones through 30 years.

ESAB presented state of the art within todays FSW equipment and tools.

The speakers referred, to a great extent, to their own practice, given that Marine Aluminium today are applying the process at one of Europe’ largest plants for FSW, and ESAB is an experienced developer of solutions for the FSW industry.

The day ended with a question and answer session, moderated by DMN AluNet.
