Innovative plastics usage for optimization of solar cell modules

A project financed by the Region of Southern Denmark, the European Union and the Danish Agency for Science and Innovation.

A group of companies headed by SunSil from Toftlund have been working to develop energy systems which can contribute to a better and more efficient use of renewable energy from the sun for the benefit of the individual user and for the environment.

On the basis of this vision, the consortium has worked to develop a series of improved solar panels. The role of Plast Center Denmark has been to identify the possibilities for substituting traditional materials with polymeric alternates, expected to give a direct or indirect reduction in energy consumption.

These are all-in-one products with better energy economy compared to known technology. The solar systems also look better, because they constitute a technological ornamentation on the buildings where they are installed.
